About Draco

Draco, a nickname he acquired during his school years, has developed a lifelong passion for genealogy and family history through the knowledge, stories, and experiences shared by his family. What began as an interest in discovering his own roots has grown into a dedicated journey of historical exploration, genealogical research, and preserving the stories of generations past.

For more than six years, Draco has devoted his time to researching family histories, visiting libraries and historical societies, photographing materials from historical books, gathering genealogical data, and transcribing records to make valuable historical information easier for researchers to discover and use. Through his research, he has gained experience working with a variety of genealogical sources and historical documents, contributing to the preservation and accessibility of information that might otherwise be difficult to locate.

Draco's work extends beyond his personal family history research. He serves as a State and County Coordinator for multiple states and counties within the USGenWeb Project, a volunteer-driven initiative dedicated to making genealogical and historical resources available to the public. In this role, he helps support the collection, organization, and sharing of location-specific information that can assist people researching their ancestors and family connections.

He also contributes his skills to New Horizons Genealogy as a member of its Transcription Team, helping transform historical documents into readable, searchable text. This work supports the broader genealogy community by making historical records more accessible to family historians, genealogists, and anyone interested in uncovering the past.

Through this official blog of Draco's Genealogy Web, Draco brings his enthusiasm for genealogy, historical research, and record preservation together in one place. The website is designed to help visitors explore their family histories, discover useful genealogical resources, learn how to begin researching their ancestors, and find historical records that may help them connect the pieces of their family tree.

Whether someone is just beginning to investigate their ancestry or has spent years tracing family lines, Draco hopes to make the research journey more approachable, informative, and rewarding. From cemetery inscriptions and vital records to census schedules, historical publications, and genealogical transcriptions, every resource offers another opportunity to uncover a piece of the past.

For Draco, genealogy is about more than collecting names, dates, and places. It is about discovering the people behind the records, understanding the communities in which they lived, and preserving the stories that connect one generation to the next.

His mission is simple: to encourage others to become history detectives, explore their ancestral roots, and experience the thrill of hunting down their ancestors and tracing their bloodline.
